April 26th is Arbor Day

Arbor day was proposed to the Nebraska Board of Agriculture in 1872 by J. Sterling Morton. It was a day to be honored by the planting of trees. The first official planting took place in Nebraska and over one million trees were planted. Today Arbor Day is celebrated around the world.

Forest Grove Farmers Market

One of the most diverse events in the area, the outdoor Forest Grove Farmers Market attracts a weekly average of more than 2000 visitors of all ages and demographic groups to share good food and listen to local musicians. Market vendors offer a wide selection of local goods ranging from fresh produce, eggs, meat, honey,
